  • so far sosis has been implemented on 5 islands from 11 uninhabited islands in kepulauan seribu, dki jakarta province, which is: untung jawa island, panggang island, pramuka island, kelapa island, and harapan island.

  1. Why is the SOSIS program only carried out in 5 islands of the 11 inhabited islands in the Kepulauan Seribu?

    • The 5 islands that are the focus of SOSIS have unique characteristics to be used as pilot project locations and collect best practices

  • because that 5 islands had its own unique characteristic to be pilot project and collecting best practices

  1. can i duplicate sosis programs?

  • of course you can, you can duplicate the sosis program in your surrounding, we also provide best practices (link to best practices) which will help you in executing your project.

  1. can i be a volunteer in any sosis programs?

  • you can! theres a time when we really need your help in succeeding sosis programs, when that time comes, there will be a notification at the top of the sosis page. if you can’t find the notification, you can see our latest volunteer story here (link to volunteer page).

  1. are there any programs that specifically target women in the sosis program? why so?

  • because gender equality is one of our main pillars in implementing the sosis program, women participation in our program became one of our success indicators. one of which is we deliver our education content about waste sorting to housewives because they are regularly involved in managing household waste in the program targeted area. 

  1. are sosis planning on doing a coral reef festival in the near future? what kind of coral reef festival in 2019, right before a pandemic?

  • as it seems on the about page (sosis history), the last coral reef festival was held by kehati and it’s collaborators. but in 2021, this festival will be concepted as a hybrid between online and offline, dca also collaborating with all listed collaborators in doing so. this event will include education and action involving climate change, coral reef, and conservation with coastal people. 

  1. what is the biggest challenge in doing sosis programs?

  • our biggest challenge is to ensure that every failure and inputs from cross-stakeholder can be fixed frequently, and creating programs that can have a bigger impact for the environment and assisted community. that’s why we believe that challenge will always exist and by any means we will continue learning to become the answer for that challenge, supported and developing together with all of our stakeholders. 

  1. will l get my donation report?

  • yes, we will send your donation report every 3 month through an email that you used in your fill donation form. but, donation confirmation and e-certificate will be sent directly every end of the month. this happens because we need time to maximize calculating donation and impact from activities.
